FilmMaster™

An automated thin film insertion system for the automotive market. This proven system provides manufacturers of interior plastic automotive products with a distinct advantage over conventional thin-film insert molding method. This system is designed to be retrofitted with conventionally used equipment.
 


Automation Objective

To automatically perform the following sequences without the use of manual labor:

1.Remove a single thin-film insert from a magazine
of inserts. The automation system ensures only one insert is selected.
2.Insert thin-film into mold.
3.Remove completed molded part and deposit for further processing.

Cycle Time:
Matched to your molding machine cycle.
Acuators:
Vary according the style of rocker panel being produced. Actuators may be servo-driven electrical motors for complex movements and/or pneumatic axis movement for simple rocker panel designs.
Degating Method:
Disposable, single edge quick-change blades to eliminate the need for expensive and difficult-to-maintain die sets. Reliability is maintained regardless of plastic type used. Blade maintenance is reduced to a quick and simple, infrequent blade changing procedure. This degating method produces no waste particles, thus part cleaning in preparation for painting is not required.
Heat Treatment:
Natural gas combustion system. No further preparation for painting is required.

PLC Control System.

Options

Option 1:
Transfer Robot
A transfer robot will automatically unload molded rocker panels from your injection molding machine and transfer them to the PanelMaster™ rocker panel processing system.
Option 2:
Clip Insertion
The clip insertion allows for the automatic insertion of rocker panel fastening clips into the rocker panel clip retainers.
Option 3:
Unloading Robot
An unloading robot will automatically transfer processed rocker panels from the PanelMaster™ onto a conveyor or other deposit point.
